I've Made A Veggie Burger, Ate It and Did Not Die

So yeah… that happened. I've made a veggie burger. Actually, I'm proud of myself. I've made it and it was frickin’ delicious.

All my friends are familiar with my love of burgers, but I have never made a veggie burger. I did try a few in the fast food restaurants, but they were not that delicious. So I've started my own veggie burger adventure and this is the result.

This is what you need:

– 2 cups of red beans
– 1 egg
– onion
– bread crumbs
– Gouda cheese
– spices: salt, pepper, chili
– pickles
– bun

Sauce:

– ketchup
– mayo
– oregano

Let's make a patty but first, fry a bit of an onion. Slice a half of white onion and fry it on butter until it gets brownish colour and now you can make a patty.

Put one and a half of red beans (from a can) in a bowl and start mushing so you get a red beans paste. Spice it with salt, pepper and chili and add onion and breadcrumbs. Mix it together and crack an egg then mix it all together. Add what's left of the whole beans, mix it up again and make a patty. Don't forget to put some oil or water on your hands before making the patty because the paste with stick to your hands.

After you've formed a patty, grill it on a regular pan, don't use grill pan, cause it might crumble. Fry it on melted butter for 4-5 minutes on each side. A minute or two before it's done, put a slice of Gouda cheese on the patty and melt it. Just put some water in the pan and cover it with something so that the cheese melts.

While it's frying, make a sauce. Just like in a previous burger recipe. Put two table spoons of ketchup and one table spoon of mayo in a small bowl and a pinch of oregano and mix it up. Spread some sauce on a bun, which you can toast (highly recommend it), put some pickles and top it with veggie patty.

Serve it with your favourite drink and enjoy!

Sastojci za vegetarijanski burger:

– 2 šolje crvenog graha iz konzerve
– 1 jaje
– luk srebrenac
– prezla
– Gauda sir
– začini: sol, biber, čili
– kiseli krastavci
– pecivo

Sos:

– kečap
– majoneza
– origano

Prvo ćete prepržiti luk, na običnoj tavi i na maslacu. Pržite dok ne dobije smeđkastu boju i ostavite na kratko sa strane dok ne pripremite “pljeskavicu”. U zdjelu stavite jednu i pol šoljicu graha te viljuškom izgnječite. Dodajte začine, luk, prezlu i promješajte, te dodajte jaje i ostatak graha i opet promješajte. Formirajte “pljesku”, ali prvo pokvasite ruke vodom ili ih malo nauljite. Kada ste formirali “pljesku”, pržite je na običnoj tavi, nemojte koristiti grill, jer će se raspasti.

Pržite neke četiri minute s obje strane, ali minutu prije nego je gotovo, stavite jednu krišku Gaude, dodajte malo vode u tavu te poklopite poklopcem. Sir će se istopiti, a burger će biti predobar.

Nemojte zaboraviti napraviti sos. Standardni na koji ste već navikli. U malu zdjelu stavite 2 supene kašike kečapa, jendu majoneze i origana. Sve to pomješajte i namažite na tostirano pecivo. Zatim stavite krastavce i na to “pljesku”.

Servirajte uz piće po želji i uživajte!
